ZERO WASTE DESIGN

Sustainable Fashion, Minimal Cutting.

DESIGN

A Yarn, A Fabric seeks an identity; design often becomes a mediation, narrating the tales of the fabric and the process.

The love of fabric and the innate love for pattern making pushes us through a massive overwhelm of cutting through the fabrics, wanting to retain as much as possible. As the intention goes, with flat sketches for the available dimensions, the fabrics take on a form. Square cuts in bias and straight grain with folds and pleats that convert to garments..

SELECTION

Rang’ embraces Indian textiles, natural & hand woven fabrics. Classic clothing with beautiful hand embroideries and surface textures.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

We see a fabric as something that wants to achieve its full potential, yet, retaining its inherent way of being. Every fabric wants to be something and with that belief, let the fabric decide for itself. I leave the fabric on the dress form to talk back or drape on myself for it to talk back and give some answers. Most times it does and the times it doesn’t, I let it be. Every fabric has its day.

It is difficult to go to a store and buy fabric. It is as if selecting between kids, weighing one over the other. I want them all, I want to create with them all, I want to pamper them all.

Zero Waste Design has always been our work ethos at Rang’. We milk out our creative juices and design for maximum utilization. The fabric scraps are left over pieces, which sort of jump about for our attention, teasing, encouraging, to be part of a story, to create beauty or craft or history. Some of them find place in an ingenious scarf whereas some convert to beautiful brooches, buttons and wallets. Our love for the craft attracts more loving teammates who complete what we take on and make it accessible for an audience. The fabrics are either seeking attention or are at rest. Yes, if aware, it is a spiritual process, mostly of being a mediator.

With every collection we strive to take our customers closer to a green closet. Most of our work is on Natural and Handwoven fabrics.

Rang’ Ideology

Sustainable Fashion, Minimal Cutting.

Zero waste

A clothing positive approach that has low impact on environment, it uses special draping and cutting techniques to bring down the textile waste to mere 0.5% to 5% compared to average industry waste of 15%

Key component at Rang' for the zero waste concept is square cuts of fabric that takes a shape to fit the body. This has been our brand ideology since inception.

Slow fashion

Loving and wearing the clothes you already own, washing them with care, mending and converting them to other forms to ensure long use, buying mindfully and choosing classics is how slow fashion is translated at Rang'.

And hence, each piece is created with an intention to last beyond seasons and be loved again and again.

Locally Crafted

Rang’ clothing is locally made, crafted by expert artisans… It carries the distinct essence of Gujarat; over and above, that ensures transparency, sustainability and boost to artisan community.
